As a sandbox and survival game, Minecraft tops the charts of ‘most played’, and ‘most popular’ games of all time! And every Minecraft player has had this one question in their minds- is there really an end to this game?

Finally, the answer is here! For over a decade (14 years to be exact), one dedicated gamer,- Kurt J. Mac, made it his mission to find this out. And after 14 long years, on the 4th of October 2025, he finally reached the Far Lands in his epic series, ‘Far Lands or Bust.’

However, there is a twist in the plot! This moment doesn’t just mark the end of a legendary 14.5-year journey! In fact, the streamer has stated that he would continue to playing Minecraft, as there are a lot of things that are yet to be explored! That being said, this monumental achievement of Kurt J. Mac Far Lands is indeed an inspiration for the entire gaming community.

The Far Lands, in reality, is actually a coding glitch!

In Minecraft versions (up to Beta 1.7.3), the entire terrain generation algorithm broke down at a certain point. This happened due to a floating-point number error. When the coordinate system ran out of precision, it caused a failure in the game code. And this failure went on to create some really bizarre, and corrupted terrain.

That is exactly why players would witness fragmented landscapes, or irregular box structures, walls, etc. That’s when the community quickly dubbed this area the Ffar Llands Mminecraft. Moreover, this glitched zone slowly became a legendary myth among early players!

The Far Lands exist approximately 12,550,821 blocks from the origin point (0, 0). Therefore, walking the entire distance takes a massive amount of time in the real world. Markus Persson, the creator of Minecraft, once cracked a joke that reaching the Far Lands is impossible!

However, Kurt took this as a personal challenge! Unlike most players who would simply teleport to the end point, Kurt chose the hard way, and dedicated his time and effort to walkingwalk across every block. He transformed an absurd technical challenge into a noble quest! The world watched him complete the Ffarland or Bbust expedition with high anticipation.

The answer to this question is simple- walk your way through! Sure, there are other ways that you can use, like hacks, and cheat codes, which makes it easier for you. But, the algorithm of the game makes it way too tough to get to the destination!

So, if you planned to do this in the Kurt J. Mac way, you have to play it like he did! Stay consistent with an average walking speed of 4.3 blocks per second. Although you could only cover a couple of kilometers in real time, that is how you get to it the hard way, or the Kurt J. Mac way!

Also, Kurt did this on the Beta 1.7.3 version of the game. This means he continued to play on an outdated version with all those technical limitations and bugs.

If you think it through, you will realize that it was never the game that mattered! Rather, it was Kurt’s dedication which made this 14-year journey worthwhile. In fact, many of his fans were awe-struck by his endurance capacity in Minecraft Far Lands survival mode!
